Why is there an Error on my video?
There could be three reasons you're getting an error on the video -
Incorrect greeting recording (Solution: Re-record greeting audio)
Incorrect prospect information (Solution: Change background URL)
AI could not detect a face (Solution: Re-record video template)
Let's explore them one by one -
1. Incorrect greeting recording
There is too much background noise in your recording environment
Recorded greeting does not have any words
Recorded greeting is shorter than 0.5 seconds
Recorded greeting is longer than 3.5 seconds
2. Incorrect prospect information
Background screenshot URL is not accessible
Prospect name has special characters (eg: umlaut)
Prospect email has special characters (eg: umlaut)
3. AI could not detect a face
The recording room is too dark
Your face is partially cut off from the video frame
Your face is in a full side-pose
More than one faces were detected in the video template
You are moving too fast in the video
One side of your face is illuminated way more than the other
Recorded video template has too much background noise
Do you always have to begin my dynamic video with 'Hey there'?
Although we do recommend using "Hey there" as your default greeting for Dynamic Videos and Dynamic Screen Recordings, you can still use any other 2-word-long and generic greeting as a start to your videos. Here are some examples:
Hey there ← Our recommendation
Hi there
Hello there
Hello hello
Hey team
Other important tips:
Make sure that your lips are closed when you finish saying "Hey there"
Make sure to take a very quick pause after you finish saying "Hey there"
How to avoid lip-sync issues?
Important Do's to avoid lip-sync issues:
Make sure that your face is lined up properly in the oval. This allows the AI to detect your face and lips properly
Make sure that your lips are closed when you finish saying "Hey there"
Make sure to take a very quick pause after you finish saying "Hey there"
Important Dont's to avoid lip-sync issues:
Don't wave your hand in front of your face while recording your template video
Don't obscure your face with any objects, like a microphone in front of your face
Having said that - lip-sync issues are totally normal. You look at your own face everyday, so as a user you can quickly pick up on the lip-sync inconsistencies. But even though you notice those inconsistencies, your recipients are not likely to notice them.
Why Do I Need To Give The Email Addresses Of My Prospects?
When using Potion to do AI video outreach, you might wonder why prospect email addresses are required. Here's the key: email addresses act as a unique identifier, allowing Potion to help craft truly personalized videos for each recipient.
Imagine this: you have two potential clients named Jenny, each from a different company with distinct needs. You wouldn't use the same generic video pitch for both, right? Potion understands this. By providing email addresses, you ensure each Jenny receives a tailored video.
Here's how email addresses make a difference:
Unique Backgrounds: Let's say Jenny at Company A works in the finance industry, while Jenny at Company B works in marketing. Potion can leverage the email addresses to differentiate the video backgrounds based on their individual website URLs provided by you.
Personalized Introductions: Beyond backgrounds, email addresses can unlock the potential for personalized greetings. Imagine the impact of a video that starts with "Hi Jenny, from [Company A]" – a simple touch that instantly grabs attention.
Data-Driven Insights: Email addresses also allow Potion to track video engagement. You can see which Jennys (or other prospects) watched the entire video, clicked on CTAs, or expressed further interest. This valuable data helps you refine your outreach strategy.
Alternative: Using LinkedIn Profile Links
While email addresses offer a more versatile personalization approach, Potion also allows using LinkedIn profile links for identification. However, email addresses provide a more consistent and secure method. Here's why:
Multiple LinkedIn Profiles: Some professionals have multiple LinkedIn profiles, which could lead to sending the wrong video to the wrong recipient.
Limited Data Access: Using LinkedIn profiles requires navigating privacy settings, and accessing the specific information needed for personalization might not always be possible.
Overall, providing email addresses unlocks the full potential of Potion's personalization features. Thus ensuring your prospects receive video messaging that is truly unique, impactful, and tailored for them.

How To Get The Best Possible Dynamic Videos Output?
Ensure your default camera and default microphone are the correct devices. This can be found in your settings.
Avoid using a Bluetooth headset as your default microphone.
Record in a well-lit room where the light is shining on your face.
Avoid recording with light behind you (ie. in front of a window).
Do not wear a hat that creates a shadow over your face.
Ensure your entire face is located within the red oval that appears on your screen when you start recording.
When recording, start your Dynamic Video with "Hey there" followed by a brief conversational pause, and then the rest of your message.
When you finish "Hey there", close your mouth so that your lips touch before starting the rest of your message.
When you get to step two, ensure that "Hey there" is properly identified by Potion. You'll know this worked because the words "Hey there" will have a purple highlight.
If when you get to step two the words "Hey there" and only the words "Hey there" aren't highlighted, re-record.
Other Tips
Do your best to record all of your video messaging in the same room/environment. The more consistent your environment, the more consistent your audio and video output will be across all of your videos.
Write your script in bullet points rather than full sentences so that when you deliver your script, it doesn't feel scripted.
Mistakes are okay, you're only human! Avoid re-recording until you have a "perfect" video.
By following these tips for recording setup, best practices, and general video creation, you can ensure your Dynamic Videos are consistently high-quality and engaging. Remember, a friendly and conversational tone goes a long way, so relax, be yourself, and focus on delivering your message in a clear and concise way. With a little practice, you'll be creating professional-looking Dynamic Videos in no time!
How to create Dynamic Video using prospect LinkedIn profile IDs instead of email addresses?
When building your prospect list, replace the "email address" column with the "LinkedIn URL" for each prospect
Upload your prospect list, ensuring that the "email address" field is populated with the LinkedIn profile URLs of each prospect
Using a Potion snippet in your LinkedIn Automation Tool
Identify what the "unique identifier" is within your LinkedIn automation tool. It is likely {linkedin_profile} or something similar but verify this first.
Find the Potion video you'd like to share through your LinkedIn automation tool
Click the "Share your video" button below your video
Select the Hubspot Snippet
Paste your Hubspot Snippet into your LinkedIn automation tool, it will look like this: <a href="https://video.sendpotion.us/658445ef2613f37d5d0ee301/{{contact.email}}"><img alt="Potion video" src="https://video.sendpotion.us/media/gif/658445ef2613f37d5d0ee301/{{contact.email}}.gif" width="480" height="auto" /></a>
Modify the snippet to replace {contact.email} in both places with the unique identifier you've verified within your LinkedIn automation tool. Eg: delete {contact.email} and replace with {linkedin_profile}, if {linkedin_profile} is the correct unique identifier based on your tool of choice
By following these steps, you can leverage the power of Potion's dynamic videos within your LinkedIn automation strategy. Remember to replace email addresses with LinkedIn profile URLs in your prospect list and adjust the provided snippet to use your automation tool's unique identifier. This will ensure each prospect receives a personalized video message, enhancing your outreach efforts on LinkedIn.
